270 Km — 50 Km off-road
Departing to the Sahara Desert through the road of a thousand Kasbahs, we will do several breathtaking pit stops along the way. Our first is in Skoura, the 1000 Palm Oasis, where we will visit the Kasbah of Amredile. We will then continue to the capital of roses: K’laat M’Gouna. Here we will have a chance to explore the makings of perfumes, oils and lotions from rose petals before we continue our journey to the Todra Gorge.
160 Km — 35 Km off-road
After enjoying the Todra Goges which is one of the most spectacular rock enclaves in the south, situated on the east side of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, this canyon is more than 500 feet tall providing rock climbing enthusiasts to experience the natural forces that once carved this region. About 50 kilometers before we reach Merzouga, we will arrive to the fossil capital of Morocco: Erfoud. Here we will have the opportunity to view the marble fossilization process and will be able to buy some beautiful souvenirs for your family back home. Once we reach Merzouga, we will take a camel ride to our hotel while we watch the sunset and admire the silence of the desert.
350 km
After breakfast overlooking the beautiful desert, we will pass through villages making several stops showing the making of local artisanal crafts. These include the making of marble from fossils which provides an authentic opportunity to see how Moroccans use their natural resources to make exquisite masterpieces. Next, we will pass through the Draa Valley which is home to one of the most beautiful and longest palm grove and river in Morocco. It is also said to known that the best dates come from this area. After this mouth dropping drive, we will arrive in Ouarzazate where we will take refuge for the night.
