Agadir – Taroudant –Taliouin – Taznakht – Foum Zguit
We will depart in the morning in our 4 wheel drive Morning departure by 4×4 from Agadir to Ouarzazate, passing by Taroudant, known as “the little Marrakesh”, via Taliouine and then Taznakht. We will be watching Argan tree which exist only here. We will have lunch in Taznakht and we will head to Foum Zguit an old military post where we will spend the night.
Foum Zguit – Zagora – Libraray Tamgroute – Tagounite - Erg Chegaga
After spending the night in Foum Zguit we will head to Zagora a city considered as the desert gate as it poster says “Timbuktu 52 days”. We will depart afterwards towards Tamegroute and devote a visit of its Zaouia, ancient Koranic library, visit of the pottery artisans and the underground kasbah. We will continue our southern trip towards the Oasis of Tagounite by Ait Isfoul. We stop for lunch in Mhamid. Then we will take the track towards the dunes of Chegaga and experience a camel ride in the dunes. We will enjoy a night of traditional Moroccan music and dance near the fire.
Cheguagua - Mhamid – Tamgroute Library – Zagora
After admiring the sunrise in the beautiful dunes of Chegaga we will depart in the morning towards Mhamid later we enjoy Tamegroute and devote a visit of its Zaouia, ancient Koranic library, visit of the pottery artisans and the underground kasbah. Zagora – Draa Valley – Tansikht – Nkob - Tazarine - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga
After breakfast we will leave Zagora in the direction of Tazarine. On the way we will go through desertic flat land and some Berber villages and we visit also the engravings cave of Aït Ouazik. We continue towards Tazarine known for its Henna festival. The next stop will be Alnif best known for its dates and fossil stones (lunch on the site). In the afternoon we will drive toward to Rissani the first imperial city of Morocco, as well as the capital of the ancient Sultan Alaoui. After a couple of kilometers we will reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will spend the 1st night in the hotel.
Merzouga - Rissani – Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges
After seeing the sunrise we will head back to the civilization, driving our 4x4 jeep to continue our tour, we will cross Rissani which used to be the first imperial city in Morocco and the origin of the dynasty Alaoui, where one of king’s family is bared there his name is Moulay Ali Cherif. The city of Rissani has inhabitants who speak Arabic and who have a popular souk where all the villages around the city come to buy their needs there such as vegetables, clothes… and spices that specialize this city too. Heading to the other city called Erfoud the place of Fossils that are processed into beautiful furniture, home décor, and personal items such as bracelets, key chains and necklaces. Continue driving till we arrive to Tinghir, the place where Todra Gorges are we will visit the mountains there which are the main place for climbers and trekking lovers. We will continue till we arrive to Boumalne Dades after one hour we will set on the hotel.
Boumalne Dades – Boutghrar - K’laat M’Gouna - Ouarzazate
After visiting the Dades gorges we will cross an unpaved road near the atlas to head to Boutghrar where we will see nomadic people in caves, like this we will combine between the nomads of the desert and the nomads of the Atlas. We will have lunch in traditional restaurant in the village of Boutghrar before heading to see the valley of roses in K’laat M’Gouna where we will have a chance to explore the home of the roses whose petals are used for perfumes, lotions, and oils. By then we will head to Ouarzazate where the solar energy project will provide up to 1.1 million Moroccans with a source of clean renewable energy by 2018.
Ouarzazate – Ait ben Haddou – Taznakht – Taliouine – Taroudante – Agadir
After breakfast in the hotel or the riad in Ouarzazate, we will head back to Marrakech crossing the high Atlas Mountains again, in this day we will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou where inhabitants still live within these walls and well as in surrounding berbere villages. In this Ksar. They filmed a lot of Movies like Gladiator, Game of Throne, and Prince of Arabia. After the visit we will head to Taznakht, which is an important center of carpets weaving. Our next stop will be Taliouine where we will enjoy visiting a cooperative of Zafran which is the region’s income. Before arriving to Taroudante which is surnamed as a small Marrakech we will be seeing Argan tree which exist only there. We will have a small stop to see the trees and continue to the beautiful city of Agadir in the Atlantic cost of Morocco.
