Marrakech - Kasbah Telouet - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate
200 Km -- 32 Km off-road
Through the Tizi NTichka at an altitude of 2,260 meters, we will enjoy breathtaking panorama views and explore the mountains of the high atlas. With a minor detour, we will pass through a fantastic Kasbah showing the true and untouched nature of Morocco. Kasbah Telouet was once the Kasbah of the Glaoui Pasha and is an incredible view. Continuing visiting Kasbahs, we will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou where inhabitants still live within these walls and well as in surrounding berbere villages. Our next stop for the day will be at the ‘Hollywood’ of Morocco: Ouarzazate where we will spend the night in a very typical Kasbah.
Ouarzazate - Agdz - Draa valley- Zagora
160 km -- 22 km off-road
After spending the night in Ouarzazate and after breakfast at your hotel we will continue our tour towards Zagora we will start seeing oises and palm groves all across the road in a desertic flat land. We will first be crossing the Draa Valley between Agdez and Zagora, the longest palm grove in Northern Africa after we will arrive to Zagora a city considered as the desert gate as it poster says “Timbuktu 52 days”.
Zagora - Tazarine - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga
320 Km -- 90 Km off-road
After breakfast we will leave Zagora in the direction of Tazarine. On the way we will go through desertic flat land and some Berber villages and we visit also the engravings cave of Aït Ouazik. We continue towards Tazarine known for its Henna festival. The next stop will be Alnif best known for its dates and fossil stones (lunch on the site). In the afternoon we will drive toward to Rissani the first imperial city of Morocco, as well as the capital of the ancient Sultan Alaoui. After a couple of kilometers we will reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once we are in the hotel, we will take a one hour ride on camels until we reach our camp in the middle of the dunes, there, we will admire the sunset and the silence of the desert.
Merzouga - Erfoud - Touroug - Tinjdad - Tinghir – Todra gorges
160 Km -- 35 off-road
You will get up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. Then you will ride back to the hotel in camels where you can shower and have breakfast. Then we return to Rissani to visit a traditional market, the largest in southern Morocco. We continue towards Erfoud where we will visit a fossilized marble factory. Continuing the road we will cross several Berber villages like Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach Tinghir, the place where the Todra Gorges are, there we make a back marching in the river of the gorges between the mountains.
Tinghir - Boumalne – Dades gorges – Boutaghrar - Rose valley - Kelaa Mgouna - Skoura – Ouarzazate
270 Km -- 50 km off-road
After breakfast, departure through Boumalne there begins the Dades valley, we will drive alongside the valley to the Dades gorges, where we make a visit marching. We return again with the same road to the kasbah of Ait Youl where we take the road without asphalt near the Atlas head to Boutaghrar where we will see the nomads who live in caves. By doing this, we are going to combine between the nomads of the desert and the nomads of the Atlas. After lunch in a traditional restaurant in the village of Boutaghrar before going to see the rose valley in Kelaat Mgouna where we will have the opportunity to explore the house of roses whose petals are used as perfumes, lotions and oils. Then we continue to the kasbah of Amerdhyle in the Oasis of Skoura. We will arrive in Ouarzazate at the end of the day.
Ouarzazate - Kasbah Taourirt – Cinema studios – High Atlas Mountains– Marrakech
Before returning to Marrakech, we will spend some time visiting what is known as the 'Hollywood' of Morocco. With this, we are going to visit two important locations, all of which popular movies have been filmed.
The first stop will be at Kasbah Taourirt, once controlled by the Pasha and his wives. In this incredible castle was shot '' Rules of Engagement '' '. Although most of the films have already stopped shooting here, you can still enjoy beautiful ceilings with their original art works. If you are a movie buff, the next place will definitely be your favorite ... Atlas Film Studios will give you the opportunity to see sets of previous films, casting selections and who knows; maybe you can meet Brad Pitt shooting a new movie. After lunch in the High Atlas and we had to Marrakech and end of the route.
