December, 27th 2009: arrival in Marrakesh

Welcome at the airport of Marrakesh and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel www.hotelamalou.ma.

 

December, 28th 2009: visit of Marrakesh

One day to discover the city of Marrakesh, ancient imperial city: you will discover the majestic outline of Koutoubia which dominates the red houses, the Saadiens Graves, then the Bahia Palace, center of the grand Vizier Ba Ahmed dating from the end of the XIXth century.

After lunch, continuation towards Jamaa el Fna, heart living of the city, the souk of the leather by way of that some spices.

December, 29th, 2009: Marrakesh - Ouarzazate

200 km among whom 32 km of track

After the breakfast, departure for Ouarzazate by the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 m) and the mountains of the High Atlas Mountains, lunch on the way in Palais Tichka. Afternoon, departure for the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (classified in the universal heritage by the UNISCO), visit of the kasbah and the strengthened village, then departure for the Cinema studio before arrive in Ouarzazate. December, 30th, 2009: Ouarzazate-Agdz - Valley of Draa - Zagora

160 km among whom 22 km of track

Departure from Ouarzazate at 7:30 am towards the Kasbah of the Storks and a panoramic sight on the lake, continuation towards Agdez (stop in Agdz for a small pause) by the pass of Tizi-n-Tinififft (1660 metres height) to take the track which leads towards the kasbah of Alkaid Ali inTamnougalte. Lunch in place in a clean restaurant. Afternoon, continuation by track crossing the valley of Draa with its procession of palm groves and ksour until Zagora (arrival at the end of the day in Zagora). Dinner at night at the kasbah www.kasbahsirocco.com

 

December, 31st, 2009: Zagora-Tazarine - Alnif-Rissani - Merzouga

320 km among whom 90 km of track

Departure from Zagora going back by the valley of Draa to join a track which leads towards the village of Taftechna and the village of Ait Ouaazique with its rupestral engravings. By the road, we join Tazarine and Alnif where will be made the lunch. After the lunch, we continue towards the impressive dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) via Rissani. Exchange of the vehicles against dromedaries to admire the sunset and spend the night in the heart of dunes. Dinner and night in bivouac under the Berber tent.

 

January, 1st, 2010: Merzouga - Erfoud - Touroug - Tinjdad - Tinghir

160 km among whom 35 of track

Early waking to attend the sunrise on dunes; return in dromedary in the feet of dunes. After the breakfast, we take the track which leads towards the city of Erfoud. Then, cross of the palm grove of Tourog, and that of Tinjdad (lunch in place). Afternoon, we continue towards the Gorges of Toudra or will be made the overnight stay. Dinner and night at the kasbah www.kasbah-amazir.com

 

January, 2nd, 2010: Tinghir - Boumalne - The valley of Roses - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Marrakesh

320 km among whom 90 km of track

After breakfast, departure for Ouarzazate by the way of Boumalne, the valley of the Roses and Skoura; visit of the kasbah of Amredhyle. Road towards Ouarzazate and lunch in place. Afternoon, you return in Marrakesh by the way of the pass of Tizi-N-Tichka. Dinner and night at the hotel www.hotelamalou.ma
