From Marrakech to Erg Chegaga Sahara Desert

After breakfast you will start your trip at 8:00 am to the famous city of Taroudant known with its lovely medina which is similar to the red city of Marrakech,then you will pass by Argan trees before reaching Taliouine, visit a saffron cooperative in the area,after that we will continue to Taznakht which is famous of its berber carpets,lunch in the spot. In the afternoon we will drive to Foum Zguit passing by some local berber villages and some Oasis.

Overnight in the hotel.

After spending the night in Foum Zguit we will head to Chegaga driving alongside the oasis full of plenty of Acacia trees which exist all over the Mediterranean region but mainly in the desert of Morocco we will be stopping to take pictures of the trees which will lead us to the stony desert “Reg “ which is also called in the local language as a “ Hammada” On the way we will pass by Iriki; in a lake that carries water in several periods of the year, is bordered by cords of dunes and is considered an absolutely fantastic landscape. Before reaching Chegaga you will have a picnic lunch in the middle of nowhere experiencing the silence and enjoying the meal. We will then arrive to Erg Chegaga where we will experience a camel ride in the dunes. We will enjoy a night of traditional Moroccan music and dance near the fire.

Overnight in nomad camp

After admiring the sunrise in the beautiful dunes of Chegaga we will depart to the Sacred Oasis a beautiful senery of palm trees allows you to experience the desert nomad culture. After crossing the Oasis we will get to Mhamid a city that is famous of its international nomad festival and African music so maybe you will be lucky and be on the time of a festival. We will continue our southern trip towards the Oasis of Tagounite by Ait Isfoul, Later we will enjoy Tamegroute and devote a visit of its Zaouia, ancient Koranic library, visit of the pottery artisans and the underground kasbah.. We will arrive to Zagora a city considered as the desert gate as it poster says “Timbuktu 52 days”. Lunch in the area,Afternoon we will continue to Ouarzazate crossing the Draa valley and the anti-Atlas mountains.

After breakfast in the hotel or the riad in Ouarzazate, visit of the Kasbah of Taourirt and cinema studio then we will drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou where inhabitants still live within these walls and well as in surrounding berbere villages. In this Ksar they filmed a lot of Movies like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Prince of Arabia. After the visit we will head to Agadir in the Atlantic cost of Morocco via Taznakht and Taliouine.arrival to Agadir and end of our services.
